PRELIMINARY PHYTOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATION AND FREE RADICAL SCAVENGING OF Acyranthes Aspera & Calotropis Gigantea BOTH PLANTS Authors: Kumar J* And Devi B
ABSTRACT
In the present study the Preliminary Phytochemical Investigation and free radical scavenging of
Acyranthes Aspera & Calotropis Gigantea both Plants was studies.
Phytochemical investigation and free radical scavenging of Acyranthes Aspera & Calotropis
Gigantea both plants ethanolic leaves extract. These both plants are used in traditional medicine
for a number of ailments. A. Aspera & C. Gigantea both are a persistent plant with juicy, thick,
and stout stem. Both plants leaves are smile and broad and panicle. Rhizomes are formed under
the soil; send up derived shoots near the parent plant.
The present study was concluded that the presence of phytochemical in the both plant ethanolic
leaves extracts A. Aspera & C. Gigantea and both plants exhibited antioxidant activity when
subjected to the radical scavenging tests. The A. Aspera results (IC50) for DPPH free radical
scavenging assay were found to be (153.29?g/kg), and H2O2 radical scavenging test to be
(117.12?g/ml) and The C. Gigantea results (IC50) for DPPH free radical scavenging assay were
found to be (135.33?g/kg), and H2O2 radical scavenging test to be (97.10?g/ml). The results of the
present study also revealed that preliminary phytochemical screening of ethanolic leaves extractshave Tannins, phenolic compounds, carbohydrate, Saponins, glycosides, flavonoids, alkaloids and
fats.
