AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF VISARPA VYADHI WITH SHAMAN AUSHADI: A CASE STUDY Authors: Ramola P , GAUTAM VL, SRIVASTAVA VK AND KUMAR N
ABSTRACT
Visarpa is one of the most common skin disorders apart from kushtha vyadhi which is widely
explained in our ancient classics of Ayurveda and is one of the most common skin ailments
suffered by large populations worldwide. Visarpa has its special feature of spreading to all parts
of the body. Here is a single case study of a 7-year-old male child who came with complaints
of Sukshma Pidika associated with severe Kandu (itching sensation), Toda (pricking type of
pain), Daha (severe burning sensation) over the hasta, pada, shankha Udara and mukha
Pradesh along with other associated complaints since 3 to 4 days. As a treatment, Shamana
Aushadhi like Gandhak Rasayan, Kaishor Guggulu, Avipattikar Churna Sariadhyasav, etc. was
given to the patient. Assessment of the treatment was done based on improvement in signs and
symptoms of Visarpa. After the first follow-up, there was some relief in the symptoms but
After 2nd follow-up, there was complete relief in Toda, Kandu, and Daha. Shaman Aushadi
was continued for 15 days The detailed case is presented in the full paper.
