ROLE OF NEUROHYPOPHYSIS IN VARIOUS PATHOLOGICAL CONDITIONS Authors: Vasantha G , VEDULA TSP, TEJASWINI T, KEERA AK, AND SYAMALA R
ABSTRACT
The neurohypophyseal peptide oxytocin may function in the brain to mediate a number of
affiliative behaviours, according to a number of recent experiments [1]. Both animals and
humans also exhibit altered behaviour after receiving the neurohypophyseal chemicals
vasopressin and oxytocin. Several studies made an effort to describe these modifications as
improvement in memory or attention processing for vasopressin and amnesic properties for
oxytocin [2].
