Authors: Gomase PV

ABSTRACT
Infectious infections are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in underdeveloped nations, making them a severe public health issue. The antibacterial activity of the crude methanol extract of Carissa carandasfruits was evaluated at three different concentrations by the agar well diffusion method. The methanol extract of the fruits exhibited antibacterial activity leaves against four pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus pyogene and Staphylococcus aureus. The methanol extract was most active against pathogenic bacteria. The inhibitory effect of the extract was compared with standard antibiotics ampicillin.
