ABSTRACT

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is an essential tool for evaluating the environmental, social, and economic impacts of products throughout their entire life cycle. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in applying LCA to pharmaceutical products to enhance sustainability in the pharmaceutical industry. This Review aims to provide an in-depth analysis of LCA applications in the pharmaceutical sector, highlighting the integration of social and economic aspects, assessing circularity, uncertainty analysis, and showcasing case studies that demonstrate the practicality of sustainable LCA in the pharmaceutical industry.
