EFFICIENCY OF TIN OXIDE (SnO2) AS CORROSION INHIBITORS FOR ALUMINIUM

ABSTRACT
Herein, we synthesized tin oxide nanoparticles using sol-gel method. XRD and SEM were used for characterizing metal oxide nanoparticles. The corrosion resistance behaviour of the SnO2 nanorods has been studied by using it as inhibitor for corrosion of Aluminium in 5% HCl by weight loss, Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy methods. From corrosion studies it can be concluded that, the SnO2 nanorods can be used as a potential inhibitor for corrosion of aluminium in 5% HCl.
