ABSTRACT
The clinical definition of depression, based on the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM-5), is “a period of at least two weeks when a person
experienced a depressed mood or loss of interest or pleasure in daily activities, and had a
majority of specified symptoms, such as problems with sleep, eating, energy, concentration, or
self-worth.Depression can stick around for years if left untreated and can lead to physical
symptoms or even thoughts of suicide. Even if an episode resolves on its own, it could recur.
Ayurveda have different treatment protocols to such a drastic situation. Ayurveda treats both
mind and body and provide better health to anindividual.In the present case study of mild and
moderate depression, Siddhartaka Yoga is given to the patient. Hamilton depression rating
scale was used as a tool to assess the effectiveness of Siddharataka Yoga.Aim –To show the
effectiveness of Siddhartaka Yoga in the management of mild and moderate depression.
Observation & Results – The present classical drug Siddharataka yoga is helpful in treating
the symptoms of mild and moderate depression and showed improvement in Hamiltondepression rating scale.
