ABSTRACT

India has the potential to become a major country playing the lead role in the production of standardized, therapeutically efficient ayurvedic formulations. This can only be accomplished if the herbal products are tested and standardized by UV-visible, FTIR, TLC, HPLC, HPTLC, GC-MS, and other methods. The phytochemical profile of a plant is particularly important because it gives documented data on its medicinal potential. The World Health Organization (WHO) emphasizes the significance of qualitative and quantitative approaches for characterizing samples, evaluating biomarkers, chemical markers, and creating finger impression profiles for herbal formulations. The present overview document sheet covers the standardization parameters of the medicinal plant Calycopteris floribunda.
