ABSTRACT
The present study aimed to identify and document eight major honey plants with their
environmental characteristic and density and document the flowering periods of these plants
through the Year. Data on major bee flora were collected from 20 beekeepers and
experienced people. The field activities were conducted in 2016 around different ecological
sites to observe the major bee flora and record their density and habitat. Eight plant species
belonging to 5 Genus and 4 families were identified as the major honeybee source plants,
these bee flora species included Acacia ehrenbergiana Hayne, Acacia etbaica Schweinf.,
Acacia origena Asfaw, Acacia tortilis (Forssk.) Hayne, Blepharis edulis (Forssk.) Pers.,
Hypoestes forskaolii, (Vahl) Sol. ex Roem.
